Keeping a Vehicle Maintenance Log
Have you ever wondered when the last time you had your oil changed was? Or when those tires were rotated last? Keeping a log of your vehicle’s maintenance is a great idea for quick reference to what items have recently been in maintenance, and what needs to be done in the future.
Everyone knows that taking care of your car is important. Cars are a large investment and preventative maintenance is more cost effective in the life of your vehicle, keeps the vehicle running smoothly and efficiently, and also helps you from being stranded on the side of the road.
Preventative car maintenance, such as oil changes and tire rotations can be hard to remember to do. These are items that don’t need to be done daily, but still need to be checked regularly in order to keep your vehicle running at its best.
If you’re constantly trying to remember the last time you got the tires rotated or changed the oil, keeping a log can be a time and money saver. It is also especially helpful  if there’s an issue with your vehicle and you need to know when something was last serviced.
A car maintenance log can consist of a cheap small spiral bound notebook, or something more fancy if you wish. One thing to be sure of is that your maintenance log is small enough to fit into your vehicle’s glove box. Another great tip is to keep a pen with the notebook or in the glove box so that it is always handy. A great practice is to write in your vehicle maintenance log while you are in the car, as soon as you get maintenance done to your car. This helps you get it out of your brain and onto the paper right away.
And there you have it! A simple tip that can save you time, money, and keep your vehicle running like a champ!
